Saskatchwan Breast Screening Campaign Completion

We Did It. Together.

Because of you, breast cancer screening in Saskatchewan will never be the same.

Thanks to the generosity of donors across our province, the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan’s Breast Screening Campaign has reached its goal – raising $5.2 million to expand access to life-saving screening for women in every corner of our province.

Your support has transformed access to early detection by funding:

  • Two state-of-the-art mobile mammography units bringing screening directly to rural and northern communities
  • New digital mammography technology at permanent screening sites in Regina and Saskatoon
  • Expanded screening capacity to meet the needs of a growing and newly eligible population

Together, these investments will help ensure that women – no matter where they live – can access timely, high-quality breast screening close to home.

With two mobile units now travelling the province:

  • Up to 42 rural and northern communities will be reached each year
  • Each unit will screen 6,000–7,500 women annually

That means thousands more women will have access to early detection, often before symptoms appear. And that matters.

For those receiving their screening exams in the centres in Regina and Saskatoon, new digital mammography machines are in place thanks to a donation from our friends at PTI Transformers.

Because when breast cancer is found early, treatment options improve and survival rates increase dramatically. In fact, approximately 75% of cancers found through screening are detected at an early stage.

This campaign came at a critical moment. With the province expanding screening eligibility to include women in their 40s, an estimated 76,000 more women will now be eligible for routine screening.

But increased access requires increased capacity – and that’s exactly what you helped build.

This achievement belongs to you.

From leadership donors to community fundraisers, from corporate partners to monthly donors, this campaign was fueled by people who believe that no one should face cancer alone. We offer special thanks to PTI Transformers, Knight Cares, MNP, The Mosaic Company, Orano, and the Kinsmen Foundation for their transformational donations.

While this campaign has reached its goal, the impact is just beginning.

Thank You
