Karen received her CPA/CA designation in 1999 and articled with Ernst & Young, followed by seven years in progressive employment with SaskTel.

She made a career move to the Government of Saskatchewan in the role of Executive Director of Corporate Services in the Department of Learning. After spending 13 years in various roles, Karen retired in 2018 as Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services Division within the Ministry of Finance.

Karen is a cancer survivor and volunteered as the Foundation’s spokesperson and ambassador for the first campaign launched in 2019; $3 million for two new CT Simulators.
