Job Opportunity: Digital Media & Community Events Coordinator
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice-President of Development, the Digital Media and Community Events Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all third-party events in central and northern Saskatchewan, as well as developing, implementing, and monitoring the Foundation’s digital media initiatives in alignment with the overall communications and marketing strategy. Additionally, this role will work collaboratively with the Stewardship and Events (South SK) Coordinator, who will be based in the Regina, SK office.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Management & Coordination
- Review Third-Party Event Policy and Toolkit annually.
- Together, with the Stewardship and Events Coordinator (south) triage all third-party event requests.
- Ensure event alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan (Foundation).
- Ensure proper use of the Foundation’s logo and messaging at all times.
- Provide appropriate administrative forms such as pledge forms, registrations, and waivers to sanctioned events.
- Coordinate and deliver donor-centered communications for events as needed, including information required for receipts.
- Support event committees as required to ensure event success.
- Create and manage peer-to-peer fundraising pages for events that meet criteria.
- Participate in event committees where events are prominent within the community or have potential for high-value donor engagement.
- Attend events in central and northern Saskatchewan when possible and recommend attendance of other team members as appropriate.
- Prepare event briefs for events requiring management attendance or additional staff support.
- Serve as the main contact with Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming for lottery license submissions and reporting.
- Maintain the fundraising events calendar for the development team, with input from the Stewardship and Events Coordinator (south).
Digital Communications
- Lead all digital media efforts, including social media assets and the Foundation’s website.
- Work closely with the Vice-President of Development and Director of Engagement to create a content calendar aligned with the overall communications strategy.
- Manage the content calendar, identify content sources, write copy, and schedule posts.
- Generate, maintain, and update website content with relevant and timely information.
- Design social media posts promoting third-party events and post-event acknowledgments.
- The Director of Engagement will provide campaign-specific and donor communication content to support building the content calendar. This can include direct mail posts, end of year donation reminders, patient/donor stories etc.
- Analyze social media metrics and take proactive actions based on insights and best practices.
- Monitor social media activity of competitors, stakeholders, and media outlets to remain informed of industry trends.
Stewardship & Leadership
- Maintain proactive communication with event committees to build loyalty and trust.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, corporate sponsors, vendors, and event partners.
- Work closely with the Development Coordinator to ensure timely receipting of event donations.
- Promote teamwork and creativity within the Foundation to provide optimal volunteer support.
- Work collaboratively with the Stewardship and Events (South SK) Coordinator based in the Regina, SK office, ensuring alignment with overall event and stewardship strategies.

Education and Experience
- Related post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in fund development, event management, fundraising events, or communications.
- Experience in developing and implementing social media strategies.
- Website content creation and management experience required.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Applicant must have a valid drivers’ license and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
- Position is based in Saskatoon, SK.
- Events will primarily take place in central and northern Saskatchewan.
